Oscars 2013, Gowns Report

I don't know if I really liked this years Oscars red carpet show. There were many fabulous dresses there, but on the other side there were also some non-understandably design and color choices.

However, I will write about the looks that I really liked, and about the looks that I maybe didn't like so much, but they made some impression.

Top five best dressed:

1. Charlize Theron in Dior Couture

When Charlize first showed up I hated this look. I didn't like her haircut, I thought the dress was too simple and it reminded me on Anne Hathaway's Golden Globe gown. I couldn't find anything nice about her red carpet appearance. Meanwhile, I started to like it. I think that white looks amazing on her, especially because she doesn't look like a bride, and haircut (although I still don't fancy it) makes her look extremely elegant. She knows how to wear it. Furthermore, this is one of the dresses I will probably remember in the future, and that's what good fashion is all about.

2. Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab

Sandra is definitely one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood, and with years she looks better and better. I loved her black Elie Saab gown. It was flawless. Elegant, sexy, event appropriate, but also excited and glamorous in a very simple, but effective way.

3. Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille Couture

There is something about Zoe in this gown. I was blew away when I saw her. She looked sensational, and different. I think it's usually really hard to make black and white couture gown, but this one is perfect. All compliments to the Alex Mabille.

4. Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

"Finally some color this evening!", was my first impression on Kerry Washington and her Oscar appearance. Her outfit was sparkling and glamorous and she brightened up the whole event. She kept it safe, and let her makeup be natural, only wearing a ring and a discrete pair of earrings

5. Emmanuelle Riva in Lanvin

When you are 86, nobody expects that you will glow on the red carpet. Unless, you are Emmanuelle Riva, attending your first Oscars ceremony. The French actress looked simple and beautiful in her "made specially for her" Lanvin dress. This lady brought dignity and good style with her. The color looked really nice on her, and she is in my top five best dressed.

Perfect but something is missing Award

There are three looks everybody was talking about, and referring to them as the best dressed trio. However, I have to disagree. I did like these looks, but at the same time I missed something. I missed life in this gowns. The ladies were just too perfect for me to enjoy their outfits.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

There was a story that Jennifer Lawrence will wear a dress which made especially for this occasion. However, she chose a white gown from latest Dior collection. The dress was beautiful and exclusive, and Jennifer knew how to wear it. This is probably my sixth best dress of the evening.

 Jessica Chastain in Aramani Prive

Beautiful red hair actress found a gown which matched perfectly her hair. The makeup was extraordinary, her skin looked gentle matching the dress. However for me, it was beautiful but to matchy- match :)

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive

Although this dress looked sensational on Naomi Watts, I would like her to choose something more sensible and sexy. The gown felt like to heavy for a small and beautiful woman like Naomi. Still, she definitely was one of the best dressed of the evening.

Ladies who, each in her own way, are getting older beautifully

Two 50+ actresses hold a lesson to many of their colleagues on how to either sexy or glamorous, and get everyone's attention even if you are no longer in your twenties or thirties.

Jane Fonda chose yellow Versace gown for her presenter role and I believe everybody would agree that she is still very hot and brave on the red carpet.

On the other side, beautiful Sally Field optioned for a powerful Valentino red gown, and she took my breath away. Charming and classy.

 Most disappointing fashion Awards

When you are a big star, you must have known that everybody is expecting the you will always looked sensational. Of course, that can not always happen, everybody can have a bad day, but its really sad when the that day happens at Oscars.

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino

Jennifer is one of mine favorite celebrities ever. I think she is funny, pretty and has the most amazing body on the planet. But recently her red carpet moments have become predictable. The only difference this time was that she didn't choose to wear black, and in stead of that she was wearing orange/red Valentino gown, but the dress was, although beautiful, really simple and boring.

Jennifer Garner in Gucci

Gucci House dressed both Ben Affleck and his gorgeous wife, and they have even made this gown especially for her. The color of the dress was amazing and it looked perfect on Jennifer's ivory skin. Her choice of  jewels made her sensational. On the other side, the back of the dress was to complicated and not so elegant.

The best plus one Award

The best looking plus one was George Clooney's girlfriend Stacey Keibler. She was wearing Naeem Khans silver metallic gown, and she looked like a real red carpet star. I especially liked her old Hollywood hair. She looked glamorous.

The best environment Award

I wanted Helen Hunt to win her second Oscar this year. She was more than extraordinary in The Sessions. And although, she didn't win, she was still the environmental winner of the Oscars. Namely, Helen showed up wearing commercial H&M navy blue gown, made from ecological cotton. She was the only one not to wear an expensive brand dress. Her jewels were Martin Katz and apparently worth 700000$, just enough to make her simple look a bit more glamorous.

  The worst dressed Award

At the end, I will just mention two, in my opinion, worst dressed ladies at Oscars 2013. I just couldn't find anything flattering about these look. I was speechless:
